How do I scan a menu with DishPassport?
Open DishPassport, tap the camera icon on the main screen, point your camera at the menu (try to get the whole page in frame), and tap the Scan button. Results appear in a few seconds. You can also tap the photo icon to select an existing photo from your library.
What languages are supported?
The free version includes English and Spanish translation. DishPassport Pro supports 30+ languages including French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Greek, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and more.
How do I subscribe to DishPassport Pro?
Open DishPassport, go to Settings, and tap "Go Pro". You can choose between a monthly ($6.99/month) or annual plan ($49.99/year — save 40%). Payment is handled securely through the App Store or Google Play — no credit card details ever touch our servers.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On iPhone: go to Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → DishPassport → Cancel. On Android: open Google Play → Account → Subscriptions → DishPassport → Cancel. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period. We don't offer prorated refunds.
Is my data private? Does DishPassport collect personal information?
DishPassport does not collect any personal information. There's no account to create, no email required, and we don't sell any data. Menu images are sent to OpenAI's API for processing and are not stored by us. Your scan history is saved locally on your device only. Read our full Privacy Policy.
My scan didn't work — what should I try?
Make sure there's adequate lighting on the menu and the text is clear and in focus. Try holding your phone steady about 12–18 inches from the menu. If the menu is large, scan it section by section. If you continue having issues, email us at support@dishpassport.com.
